Are you afraid? Good.. that's my favorite part. His paws passed over the soaked ground. Mud oozed between his digits with each step. The air was heavy with humidity and the scorching sun beat down upon his ashen hued pelt. It wasn't uncomfortable for the infected however. His usual residence within the volcanic chasm exposed him to temperatures far greater then this. The only true annoyance were the insects. A few more then normal still lingered around from Spring.
It wasn't often Vantus slipped from the chasm anymore. What exactly had drawn him from his little kingdom exactly? It was entertainment. Things had grown dull lately and the Sire sought to fill that void with something amusing. However, the definition of fun differed for Vantus then it did for most individuals.
The infected clambered up a hill, leaving behind the stagnant water and insects. He shook his head slightly to fend off a few flies that remained before padding towards a fallen tree. The tree had most likely fallen in the prior seasons' storm. It was beginning to rot, the leaves long gone as mushrooms and glowing fungi began to sprout from it's surface. Vantus leapt onto it, claws marring the surface. He drug his talons across it briefly before settling down his large frame. The log creaked with protest, but held steady.
The baseball bat in his jaws was set down against the log. His gaze traveled over the terrain as he absently began to chew away the mud between his paws. His location of choice was purposeful. The area was heavy with scent trails of foreign canines, but they all held something in common. The same iron rich scent mixed with pine. It was unique and belonged to the newest group that dared to call ground zero it's home. Many groups had tried, but very few succeeded in finding a place here.
He'd gotten reports on this new pack and wanted to see them for himself. The area was clearly a highly frequented path for them, so hopefully one would wander by. Until then the Sire would lounge and wait for his potential prey.

As trees and grass blew lightly in the wind a slight glimmer of something orange was able to be cought in the corner of the eye. It would show up time to time from the tall grass. The small creature that owned this beautiful pelt with Light. A two year old fox raised by a pack of wolves having the scent of them leanguring around her. Knee high sick like markings on her legs taking the color of a light black, the same color fourming a some what cross on her face under her eyes and between her eyes, The rims of her ears The same color. The eye color of this female with a deep purple. Beautiful color in the light but very mystifying at night.
The small skinny fox ran through the tall grass wit some type of basket. Filled with some odd flowers, plants, etc. She trotted through the grass and would stop and points and lift her head to listen for sounds. She would continue this action every 30 steps. ((sorry very short trying to get back into this long typing XD ))

Are you afraid? Good.. that's my favorite part. This far away from the cliffs, the foliage was full of life. The grass was a thick, deep green. Plants and bushes dotted the landscape with ferns sprouting along boulders. It was a place most residents of main lands traversed. The rich swamp waters provided nutrients for foliage that had healed the terrain over the past few years.
Vantus recalled what it had been like during his youth. The lands were more harsh and barren. A few of the old human structures were standing back then as well, but had crumbled with the harsh weather. All things evolved however, the canine knew this. Much like the very infection in his veins, the world changed and morphed with time.
A blur of orange caught his attention almost instantly. His gaze fixated on the small figure darting within the tall patches of grass. Their bright pelt was easy to spot, but their size helped them vanish within thicker cover. He couldn't tell exactly what breed of canine she was, but the stature pointed towards possibly a fox or some sort of coyote. Despite the lack of visuals, scent gave everything away. It was clear they were female and the scent of the Renegades lingered on her pelt.
Rolling his shoulders Vantus slipped down from his perch. He grabbed his bat with his jaws and eased into the direction of the approaching vixen. The canine was careful to keep his steps light as he positioned himself behind a large bush and awaited the opportune time.
As the female was only a leap away, he stepped forward, positing his large form directly in front of her. He hoped her momentum would cause her to crash into his side as he appeared to be mid-walk.

The mid-small female fox trotted looming around before seeing a hint of grey, with time to turn or I've out of the way the small female smacked into the male. The basket she had blew up, the rock plants flowers were scattered on the ground. She rolled back a bit from the impact. "Pardon me sir. I did not see you." her voice taking the tone of a young Fox but was only about 2 years old. The female looked up at the male with the bat. She got a bit worried about it. She kept her eyes on it and him.

Are you afraid? Good.. that's my favorite part. As the vixen smacked into the bulk of his frame Vantus let out a huff. he stepped back as if catching himself from a stumble. The impact ofcourse wasn't enough to jostle the brute. The game had began the moment he had seen her however and it was time to play his part.
After setting his bat down he replied. "It's fine." His vocals were smooth, laced with feigned worry as he inquired. "Are you alright?"
The canine used a paw to gingerly push some of the scattered plants into a pile. He leaned to pick them up and placed them into the basket. As he rose orange gaze lingered on the vixen. She only appeared to be around two years of age. The towering male could easily take her down if he so desired. However, that'd be tactless.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" he inquired. Location: Ground Zero

She was watching the male helping to pick some of her things near her. "I'm fine sir." She smiled lightly watching him. She was small but knew she was fast enough to probably move out of the way of an attack. She smiled, "no everything is fine." She replied to his second question. She was skinny for her age but well built in the legs showing she was a runner. She grabbed the basket Handel with her mouth pulling it to her. Her purple eyes trailed the bat then him. "Well I'll be off." she smiled with the Handel in her mouth and went to walk away to get back to her 'pack'.
Her tail having spots with a type of heart spot on it. It was unusual but so were her other markings. Her ears twitched back a bit kinda showing she was alert of the males movements.

Are you afraid? Good.. that's my favorite part. He watched her turn and his ears feathered back in mild annoyance before righting their self. Vantus padded up beside her with a charming smile.
"Are you sure you're alright?" Vantus' long legs carried him to step in front of her, partially blocking her way at an angle.
The rust colored sky above was darkening, steadily turning into a muddy maroon. From the hill he could see the fog already beginning to roll in from the distances of the barren land across the river that divided the land.
"It's getting dark," he paused, looking over her before purring, "I wouldn't want anything to harm that pretty head of yours."
Vantus wore an expression of worry for the female as he added, "Atleast let me walk you home doll?"

She looked up at him as he blocked her path and watched him close. She would listen to his words and would look at the sky at the hint of it getting dark. "I should be fine to walk home...." she perked at the name doll and twitched her ear at it. "If anything does try to get me I can run. Thank you for the offer though." she smiled and went around his paw her tail trailing behind her.
She lo9ked small enough to be picked up and ran off with. But her aditued and actions were unpredictable. She walked down the trail to go back to her pack. /just get to lanie and you will be safe. I should have brought a guard. I don't know why this male is in the lands but it's not safe. Just go faster light faster./ she said in her brain. As she moved her body back into a trott.

Are you afraid? Good.. that's my favorite part. It became obvious she wasn't naive enough to go along with his words. That didn't deter the Sire. It only meant the game was evolving and it was time he changed his tactics. She wouldn't reach her pack probably for a little ways yet, though Vantus wasn't certain how far she had ventured from their home. All the same, he had to be quick to his change of game plan.
"You never know what sort of dangers lay in the dark."
He was eager to follow and swift paws closed the distance between them with ease. Once within striking distance he snapped his jaws at her tail, hoping to snag the trailing appendage. If successful he'd drag her backwards towards his frame.

She glanced back in time at his words before lifting her hind legs running on her front legs before pushing her backless on his head and pushed herself away to get faster. She ran basket in jaws. She jumped over some logs. Hearing him on her tail she tucked her tail to run. She saw a down tree with a hole in it big enough for just her. She threw her head back to make the basket fly back at him, if it sucseffuly hit him He would be stagered enough for her to hide in the hole. She ran to the hole free of the weight of the basket.

Are you afraid? Good.. that's my favorite part. His gaze narrowed as he watched her tense her frame in preparation to run. His jaws snapped together loudly when he tried to snag his fangs on a hind paw. As his target scampered away, he kicked his legs off the ground and gave chase. Vantus had broad shoulders with power legs that were capable of carrying his large frame. As fast as he was however, she was smaller with a more streamlines figure. He wouldn't be able to catch up with her easily.
The basket flew at him and Vantus had to duck his head to avoid the object. As the fallen tree came into view he chuckled. 'Of course she'd hide. Typical prey, how foolish.' He thought to himself, unable to keep from snickering as the fox scurried into the hollow log. 'How predictable.'
He may not have been unable to match her speed easily, but she'd successfully trapped herself. It made things so much easier for the male. His ears swiveled, listening carefully to the sound of her claws scraping across the wood before falling silent.
Upon examination the fallen tree had only one entrance. The single hole was too small for him to squeeze into so he simply stood just outside of it.
"Is this how you treat a gentleman?" He chuckled and added mockingly, "How cruel."
Lashing his tail behind him in amusement, the Sire dragged his talons over the top of the tree. The motion caused large grooves to etch into the rotten bark. "I only wanted to keep you safe."

She watched the enterance fearful. Her breath shaky, she watched with fear trying to know a out but the only way out was where she came in, but he was there, the male who came after her. She shook scared. She knew she was to far scream for help. She backed up even farther before her foot fell through a hole behind her. She look to the enterace then back at the jumped into it to run away a small tunnel way. A thin layer pried to stay quiet as she threw the tunnel.

Kiseki had been skulking about the swamp lands for some time now. The lack of activity around the Chasm had done little to stimulate their interests, so they figured they'd go out in search of something entertaining. They did well to maintain a low profile, with all their stalking and creeping about the overgrown vegetation that flourished about the landscape. Their nose was pressed close to the ground and soon led them to a depression in the terrain-- a small tunnel opening that dipped down at their paws and seemed to beckon them to enter. There was a faint scent of canine within, leading Kiseki to believe a loner had claimed it as a temporary place of shelter. Well, they were about to have a rude awakening.
The hybrid slunk into the hole, treading silently upon the damp ground as their acute vision swiftly adjusted to the dim lighting of the tunnel. It seemed to go on for quite some time, and they continued to tread without much incident until their ears picked up an encroaching sound. It was the unmistakable sound of frantically scurrying paw pads against the mud. It was growing closer and closer, and Kiseki began to understand that there was definitely someone else in the burrow with them, and they seemed to be fleeing from something. But what? Certainly not from Kiseki, as the sound was only nearing them as the seconds dragged on. They eventually came to stop in the burrow, and then they saw the creature in the distance: a small, panicking fox that hadn't seemed to notice the Duke yet.
Kiseki exhaled a breath of amusement and positioned themself in a way that blocked the canine's path. They narrowed their eyes, calling out in a harrowing voice as she continued to run straight at them, "Where are you going?"

Are you afraid? Good.. that's my favorite part. The sound of frantic paws drew his attention. The sounds moved along the back of the back and Vantus honed in on them. What was the fox trying to do exactly? There wasn't anywhere else for her to go.
"You have nowhere to run to, might as well come out here willing". Vantus crouched down as he purred out, "I'll take good care of you if you do."
He peered into the hollowed tree. As his eyes adjured to the darkness it became apparent the vixen was gone. Pulling his lips back into a silent snarl, the Sire leapt onto the log. The rotten wood groaned and creaked with the sudden weight. With a swift kick of his front paws, the wood cracked. Large portions began to splinter off as he repeated the process.
By the time the Sire was done the middle of the rotten tree had completely collapsed. The gaping hole in front of him made it possible for him to clearly see the hole in which the female had crawled into.
"Fuck!" the single word was growled out as he snarled into the opening. "I hope you got used to being trapped because that's all you'll ever know once I get my fangs on you!" Location: Ground Zero

Light perked to word and stoped and saw the male in front of her and backed up scared before she perked her ears again at a voice. She whipped her ears back as she turned her head to the voice. Terror filling her She had no where to go she couldn't jump up the ground was to thick for her to get out without having to repeat the progress alot. She looked at the male unable to move much of his paws before doing a small growl and charged him and latched her teeth into his nose. If the posobility of it the male would break the dirt above them with his body and be abel to run away.
The dirt above them was thin but she was not big or strong enough to break it. She need this male to break it for her. She but harder sitting on his head so not to be bit so easily.
